Early adopter HumanSoft Learnin Solutions rolls out one of the first sites in the region built on Windows Server 2003

Microsoft is reporting success with an early adopter of Windows Server 2003. HumanSoft Learning Solutions, a leading Middle East-based IT and business training provider has completed the roll out of it www.ilearn.ae portal, based on Windows Server 2003.

The portal hosts over 4,000 business and IT training courses, ranging from basic PC and office productivity packages through to technical courses such as the MCSE, and professional development courses covering subjects such as time management and team building.

Zaid Abunuwar, enterprise and partner group manager of Microsoft South Gulf commented: “Microsoft has been actively involved in the UAE’s education sector in the past, however, with this project, we have taken our commitment further by supporting a pan-regional education portal which will reach many individuals otherwise unable to access such up-to-date educational courses. With Windows Server 2003’s advanced features, e-learners will be able perform many tasks securely such as accessing their course information, exam results and syllabus. They will also be able to communicate with colleagues or instructors at any time and from any Internet connection and register as a user of the portal.”

“Being successful in today’s workplace requires people to be fully up-to-date with an increasing amount of essential technology and business knowledge. The more IT skills people have, the more success they can attain in the workplace. Supporting HumanSoft Learning Solutions reiterates our commitment to people on a quest to further their training and education. Windows Server 2003 is an excellent match for HumanSoft’s pledge to its e-learners; attain the best-of-breed training and boost their IT know-how,” added Abunuwar.

HumanSoft chose the Windows Server 2003 for its development platform as it provides both security and scalability. Students can pay for courses through an online payment gateway, or with eCards similar to mobile phone pre-paid cards that can be purchased through New Horizons training centres, one of HumanSoft’s regional partners.

“Microsoft’s Windows Server 2003 was our first choice for an IT platform that we could rely on, as security is a vital component for the e-learning services that we offer,” said Mohamad Hassoun, general manager of HumanSoft. “Providing an efficient and secure networked computing environment, with easy deployment as well as enhanced reliability, Windows Server 2003 brought us real business value which enables us to react faster, smarter and in a more relevant manner to each of our customers.”

“Our subscriber base of e-learners is growing steadily as we speak,” explained Hassoun. “With Windows Server 2003’s scalability characteristics, we are able to grow with our students. This will not only enable us to maintain a premium service for everyone, but will also allow us to add new services in the future.”
